Bentham's Head is a Metal band in need of a logo and artwork for their debut album.

I worked closely with the artist to make sure the album met the needs of the band — being clean & minimal while also conveying the metal aesthetic.

Brief

A friend in a metal band asked me to create a logo and album artwork for their debut release. He had a strong visual reference point and photography already lined up, but needed help translating that vision into a cohesive, versatile identity. This needed to feel edgy and minimal while remaining usable across multiple applications, including merch and future design rollouts.

Solution

This project was a true collaboration. I took a co-design approach, sharing moodboards and rough directions early on, so we could shape the aesthetic together. I knew one of the band members would be handling some of the ongoing design themselves, so I aimed for a clean, accessible logo that would be easy to apply without professional design tools.
I sourced a typeface that struck the right balance of minimal and sharp, and designed the layouts for both CD and vinyl packaging, allowing the imagery to take centre stage without losing the mood the band was aiming for.
